Day one of the three-day tournament proved to be a challenge with cold, grueling winds throughout the day. Despite the unrelenting weather, Sawyer Klein from Denver, Colo. pulled ahead carding an impressive 1-under-par 71, putting him 3 strokes ahead of the closest competitor, Mason Hill (Broomfield, Colo.). Brynn Balliet (Thornton, Colo.) and Sydney McCord (Sedalia, Colo.) secured the top of the girls’ leaderboard with 85’s. Day two brought a lot of changes to the leaderboard as players attempted to make comebacks from day one. After two days, Sawyer Klein stayed on top, tied for first with Ben Ramsden-Wood (Denver, Colo.) with Caleb Michaels (Louisville, Colo.) one stroke behind. Bead Boonta (Centennial, Colo.) and Molly Stratton (Centennial, Colo.) made huge comebacks from sixth and seventh place, respectively, to tied for first after two rounds.
