Overview

The Junior Player Series (JPS) is the flagship level of our programs. It is designed to serve juniors on a wide range of playing abilities, from juniors that have advanced through the Junior Development Series to those looking to earn an invite into the Junior Cup Series. Players will strive to improve their games while gaining competitive experience. Juniors compete within their age divisions and earn points for the Player of the Year standings.

Open to kids ages 11-18

 who have advanced from the Junior Development Series and are looking for a Cup Series invite.



Junior 10 & Under seeking a JPS membership will need to fill out an application and attach a letter of recommendation written from their PGA/LPGA Professional.

What to expect

  • 18-hole events
  • 36-hole JPS Championship
  • Cup Series Qualifying School - 36-hole qualifying events for juniors to earn an invitation into the Cup Series.
  • Local Qualifier for National and International Events

Ways To Gain Entry to The Cup Series

Players can gain entry into the Cup series one of two ways during the season:

Q-school - two-day, 36-hole

(Spring, Summer & Fall)
  •  The top 25% of the field will earn their Cup series invitation
  • Players will have to meet the target score to earn their spot:
  • Boys - 170 or lower
  • Girls - 180 or lower

Mid-Season Performance

(throughout the Spring Season)
  • During the season we will be monitoring players performance durning Junior Player Series events. 
  • To be eligible for the Mid-Season Performance upgrade players will need to have a scoring average of:
  • Boys - 77 or lower
  • Girls - 87 or lower
  • Players must play in a minimum of 3 Junior Player Series Events during the spring to be eligible. The cut off date for mid-season entry is May 24, 2026. (Please Note: This will only be available for boys and girls in the 14-18 division)
Cup Series Gaining Entry

Yardage

Yardages will vary. Play will be contested from the forward tees on regulation courses. Precise yardages will be available online roughly five days before the event. Play will be from the approximate yardages of:

  • 11-13 Girls – Approximately 5,100 yards
  • 11-13 Boys – Approximately 5,500 yards
  • 14-18 Girls – Approximately 5,500 yards
  • 14-18 Boys – Approximately 6,500 yards

Costs

Membership fee - $150

Tournament Entry fees -

  • Junior Player Series - $100 per player per event
  • Q-School - $185 per person per event
  • Major Qualifiers - $120 per person per qualifier

Caddies are NOT allowed

Stroke Limit

There is a 10 stroke limit

Membership Level Upgrade

Once a Junior Player Series Member becomes eligible for the Junior Cup Series, they may upgrade memberships online by paying the remaining $50.00 balance. You may contact the Colorado PGA at any time to upgrade.

Srixon Cleveland Player of the Year

This season-long event will be eligible for all COPGA Junior Golfers in the Players Series who opt in and play a Srixon golf ball.

  • Both male and female will be recognized in the 14-18 divisions
  • Both male and female will be recognized in the 11-13 divisions
  • Srixon will provide an exclusive player package for these 4 junior golfers
  • Players must opt into the points race and use a Srixon golf ball to be eligible

Qualifying Rules:

  • Season-long event for all COPGA Player Series Members who Opt In.
  • For your tournament points to be considered towards the POY, the golfer must play a Srixon golf ball throughout the entire round. It does not have to be the same golf ball, but a Srixon golf ball must be in play at all times.

* Everyone will be eligible for COPGA Player of the Year regardless of opting in or out.
